Broadcast time-lapse video photography files can be created in a number of ways. Files sourced either with a video camera, film camera or digital still camera, can be digitised in a low or high compression format, and saved to computer card or disk.
- These files are then manipulated on a computer edit system and out-put via sdi, component or firewire depending on the quality required, they are then encoded to disk or copied to one of the broadcast digital tape formats depending whether high definition or standard definition pictures are required.
- Careful consideration is required in matching the correct cameras and recorders to the work in hand, not all systems are suited to all jobs. Security is another consideration, the commission is pointless if the equipment is damaged or stolen, although there are ways of monitoring for this situation.
